Winter Is Approaching….
As Bayfield wraps up the busy season, the leaves are showing us that winter is nipping at our heals. Before the snow flies, there are still things to do and enjoy in our tiny community.
The orchards are always a must this time of year. Hauser’s Superior View Farm is worth a stop for the view alone, but you’ll want to give yourself at least an hour to enjoy the property. There’s a well-stocked farm store in their 1928 Sears Roebuck Barn with apples, homemade fruit products, and gardening supplies. Finish your visit in the recently built Apfelhaus Cider Tasting Room featuring both hard cider and non-alcoholic sparking cider made only with fruit grown on the property. Another great experience is Erickson’s Orchard and Country Store for apples, pears, cider and their bakery… try the legendary apple cider donuts. Trust us, you will love them!
Trunk Or Treat - Cornucopia, WI
The “Funincorporated” village of Cornucopia puts on a wonderful Trunk or Treat, perfect for all ages. Arts & crafts, snacks, fire truck exploring, a bonfire, a kid friendly haunted house, and a dash of trick or treating. Just a short drive from Bayfield, west on State Highway 13. If you are in the area, another great stop is Cornucopia Coffee & Sweet Shop, open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until November 22nd 2026.
Haunted Trail at Mt. Ashwabay in Bayfield, WI.
For Halloween, Mt. Ashwabay puts on an outdoor Haunted Trail October 29th, 30th & 31st. They do two different variations one less & one more scary depending on your group preference. https://www.mtashwabay.org/haunted-trail.html
Hiking, mountain biking, and migratory bird watching are also wonderful during-the-day activities available at Mt. Ashwabay. This can be a wonderful way to enjoy the remaining time we have with the Northwoods fall colors.

Bates Art Bar - Small plates and artisan cocktails. Another of our go-to spots for quality food and cocktails without changing out of our flannel. Open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 4pm-8pm. Friday & Saturday from 4:00pm-9:00pm. Closed Wednesdays. Open year round as well.
